A small hand winch typically mounted inside the cabin with marked stainless steel cable and specially designed target ball provides a simple procedure for calibrating sounders for hydrographic survey.

    allows winch to be located above
    engine spaces or other obstructions mounted above sea chest.

    Installed next to transducer in optional fairing, ball is suspended directly below transducer for accurate and reliable velocity calibration.
